Further Details: | A River Explorer Cruise on the famous Mersey Ferries is an unforgettable day out for all the family. The River Mersey has an incredibly rich and varied history and the ferry service itself is more than 850 years old. The River Explorer Cruise takes you on a ferry that not only crosses the Mersey, but also explores many of its most interesting facets, which are all described in a fascinating commentary. In Summer, our route takes you to the mouth of the River Mersey where you can see New Brighton's famous old fort. In Winter, the ferry passes by Birkenhead Priory, the oldest standing building on Merseyside.
River Explorer Cruises operate hourly from Pier Head, Liverpool, Seacombe and Woodside on the Wirral. You can start your journey at any of our three terminals and a return ticket allows you to break your journey at any terminal and rejoin the cruise later in the day. Passengers can choose to break their journeys at Seacombe or Woodside. At Seacombe there is a Children's Play area and Aquarium and our £10m Spaceport Outer Space Attraction for which joint tickets are available. |
